In Korean and Chinese medical understanding, our bodies are lined with a network of energy (or Qi) channels called meridians. When a person is healthy, blood and Qi pulsate freely along these channels through the body and a healthy state is maintained.
However, when a blockage occurs, the blood and Qi can stagnate and result in an injury, or illness. To redress the balance, acupuncture needles are inserted into the body at precise locations on the meridians to unblock any stagnations of Qi and stimulate a healthy flow of blood and energy around the organs and body.
Over thousands of years of careful observation traditional medical practitioners from Korea and China have built up an extensive understanding of the natural properties of herbs and plants.
Herbal medicine can be used alongside other treatments to help correct a deficiency or excess within the body to successfully treat illness, or support recovery after an injury. Herbal medicine is very practical and non-invasive.
Although in China and Korea ‘herbal medicine’ often refers to the use of animal products for medicinal purposes, the Tit Da Manchester clinic only uses plant based medicines.
Our techniques of massage are inseparable from the philosophical belief system that underlies traditional Chinese and Korean medicine.
It is holistic in its orientation, which means that massage is understood to affect the patient's entire being, not just his or her physical body and is not intended to be an experience of pampering or relaxation.
Traditional massage techniques are form of deep tissue therapy and conveys many benefits such as speeding up the healing of injuries, clearing bruises, stimulating blood circulation, regulating the nervous system, improving athletic performance, removing scar tissue, easing emotional distress to name but a few.

The incidents of lower back pain gradually became more frequent and painful until December 2010 when I got sciatica, losing most feeling in my right leg. Hong treated me in December 2010. I was not able to walk and had to crawl on all fours in
order to mobilise. I noticed improvement pretty much from the first session.
Hong gave me some exercises to follow which went a long way to helping me walk again. Hong used hot cupping and chi, which warmed up the affected area and provided relief from pain.
I am very pleased to say that I have not had another major incident of back pain since he treated me. I still follow the exercises he gave me back in December.
Aside from following the exercises, I periodically visit an osteopath and I make sure I keep the muscles working. I have not had a relapse.
I unreservedly recommend Hong to anyone experiencing chronic back pain. His calm, no nonsense approach to treatment is reassuring and very effective indeed.
In my experience (I attended physiotherapy sessions for my sciatica originally), Hong’s treatment looks at the long term management instead of the mere alleviation of symptoms. I am eternally grateful to him.
Not much could be done about it other than resting and taking pain killers and was told they should heal within 4-6 weeks.
The pain was intense, and I had wondered whether anything further could be done to ease the pain and aid the healing process.
A good friend recommended Mr Kim, so I went for treatment and was really surprised at the initial pain relief I experienced when leaving his clinic for the first time. I hadn’t taken any pain killers that day either! Mr Kim also gave me dietary advice and suggested life style changes that would speed up the healing process. I continued treatment for about 3 weeks, the pain having totally subsided after a week and a half.
I’ve since returned for treatment to help relieve my sciatic pain which I’ve suffered with for years. I’m already beginning to see the benefits after only three sessions and only wished I’d found the Tit Da clinic sooner.
Needless to say I highly recommend the Tit Da health clinic for any ailment or pain you may be struggling with.
I arranged an appointment to see Hong Kim. My health issues were irritable bowel, a muscular problem in my neck, a cyst in my breast and I had been a smoker for 20+ years resulting in bad circulation.
On my first appointment I was not in the best of health due to these problems. I started getting treatment straight away from Hong Kim.
For my neck he used massage and manipulation which gave me relief after the first session. He also showed me exercises I could do to help myself and advised me on my posture.
He instructed how to obtain and make Chinese medicine for my irritable bowel and medicine I could take to help clear my chest while I started to cut down my smoking also medicine to help my circulation.
Over the months that I saw him I managed with his support and professional help to gradually quit smoking, I was completely cured of my irritable bowel, my neck problem was solved and I was given an ointment which made my cyst virtually disappear and my circulation improved massively.
I saw him once a week for a couple of months then went every couple of weeks to check on my progress. I’m now feeling fitter and healthier than I have in a long time and I recommend his services to anyone who is in need of any health treatment.
From the age of 22. Side effect of rheumatic fever combined with injuries caused through intensive archaeological excavations. Hong has been treating me since august 2010 with a combination of teas and hot water, tit da oil, food, massage, exercise and
I came to Hong with lower back pain, mid dorsal tension, stiffness in the shoulders, the wrists and the knees, uneven hips and restricted neck movement. Muscle waste, Calcium and magnesium deficiency. I found improvement Within a couple of sessions I noticed a number of mild nervous pinches had disappeared. Within a couple of months, I regained full mobility in my neck and shoulders, within 6 months my hips were completely healed and a year on, my core strength has got me back to doing everything I used to prior to all my injuries.
I should never have had to cope with pain. Going to the doctor for painkillers always masked the injury but never removed the tension. Going to the chiropractor helped but never secured me from having a relapse which was pretty much annual. After coping with pain since the age of 15, forgetting that I even lived with it, today I feel absolutely no tension or pain. I cannot describe to you how I am doing now, simply no words could match the feeling.
I have suffered from issues relating to a hormone imbalance for many years now and tried various things to heal it - from the NHS to more holistic approaches such as Ayurveda and even hypnotherapy. The situation is complex, relating back to family relationships when growing up, contraception, eating disorders and drug and alcohol use from a young age. Hong Kim is the first person I have met in the 7 years of trying to fix these symptoms who I can safely say understands the condition, what has led to it and what can be done to heal it.
Through monitoring my lifestyle, diet, personal history and personality traits, we worked together to make small changes in my life alongside weekly acupuncture sessions. Hong made me aware of what was happening in my body as well as my own approach to the situation, shifting it from one that is goal oriented and full of disappointment to one that is present in each day. The treatment wasn't always easy - witnessing my habitual tendencies was hard and resting with my emotions as opposed to suppressing them was even harder. Hong was very patient with me, I felt he genuinely cared and I never once felt judged.
Through working with Hong I have been able to accept that this is a gradual process which is getting to the root of the problem, as opposed to a quick fix that covers up the symptoms, only for them to arise again in the future. By subtly working at it day by day the symptoms have reduced and I feel the healthiest I have ever felt, mentally and physically. The gratitude I feel for finally being able to understand this condition is immeasurable and I hope I will be fortunate enough to check in with Hong and this ancient knowledge for the rest of my life.
